Gunpowder, treason and plot

Happy 5th November! If you’re not living in the UK, you may not be aware that today it is “Bonfire Night,” which celebrates the failure of Guy Fawkes to blow up the Houses of Parliament. I’m not sure if anyone still burns a “Guy” on their bonfire these days and it’s been years since I’ve seen anyone asking for “a penny for the Guy.” We have always celebrated bonfire night in my family because 5th November was my parents’ wedding anniversary. So there will be fireworks and bonfire toffee in the Baker household tonight – providing the weather is dry.

This week at Every Inchie Monday the theme is danger notice. I decided to use firework safety as the inspiration for my inchies:

The first inchie uses white pen and some clear Stickles:

The next, which is quite hard to see, is glitter pen:

For the final two, I used more Stickles:

I think the last one is my favourite.

If you’re having fireworks tonight – stay safe. Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. Fab-u-lous fireworks, our inches look amazing.

I hope the weather holds fine for you this evening. It is dry here at the moment but cold and the wind is picking up.

    Be safe.

  2. I lived in England for a year and we got to celebrate Guy Fawkes Day. It was very different to hear fireworks in November instead of July. great inchies I love them
