Today I have a little summer fun project to share to coincide that I am currently on holiday in summer climes having a little summer fun myself. This little altered tin is one of my projects for The Gecko Galz Design Team using some of the new papers and images for July:
The base for this is one of my little tobacco tins that I purchased, empty(!), from Ebay. I covered the sides, both inside and out, with strips of Key West paper from the Gecko Galz By The Seashore paper collection. These papers are all essentially plain, but have some lovely watercolour effects. Great for using as a base for projects.
Next, I printed out two of the same image from the Seashore Cuties ephemera set. Using the tin as a template I cut around the image and glued to the base. From the second image I cut out just the girl sitting on the sign and used glue gel to stick the cut out image over the full image on the tin’s base.
I’ve hot glued a gold chenille trim all around the top edge of the tin then made a little beach using gold glitter, Icelandic moss and miniature shells.
The beachy theme is continued up the side of the tin with more moss, pearls and a little starfish from Calico Crafts. The gold shell is cut from a strand of trim that I got from Hobbycraft.
The finishing touch was to add some more gold shells to the top of the tin.
Whatever you do today, make sure you to have a little summer fun. Thanks for buzzing by.
