Today I am sharing an altered box that I made using some of last month’s fab papers and images from The Gecko Galz.
The box itself was a bargain find (less than a £1!!!). I began by covering it with the “Tisket Tasket” paper from the Pocket Full of Posies paper pack. The box had fantastically sharp edges and corners which made this a doddle. Next, I chose my favourite images from the “Flyaway” Jewel It collection. This is a beautiful set of inchies and domino sized pieces – perfect for jewellery projects, or using on tags or ATCs. I mounted the images on chipboard which I first painted an aqua colour, then coated with crackle medium.
I hot clued the tiles to the box lid before adding little embellishments such as gems and pearls.
As luck would have it, I found some coordinating pom-pom trim that I added around the box lid and to finish I added a domino sized tile to the box front. I just love those eggs, perfect for Easter projects.
I am linking this up with the current Papercraft Star challenge which has the theme of birds. I’m thinking that I could pop some chocolate eggs inside the box and maybe make some matching notecards also which would be a great Easter gift. The only slight problem would be making sure that I didn’t end up eating all the chocolate before I got around to making the notecards. Reader – I know myself too well!!! 🙂
PS – Be sure to buzz on over to The Gecko Galz to check out the current Spring Fling that’s happening. There are some fabulous projects by the design team and you can get a sneaky peek of my Easter Garden that I haven’t shared here yet!
