Back on the beach

As I am scheduling all my posts this week I have no idea whether we are still experiencing the heatwave of last week and therefore lots of you will be having a day out, or even longer, at the coast. Whatever the weather, I can be fairly sure my feel would benefit from a little paddle in some salty water.

I have another little beach hut make for you today:

This is a little canvas that I have made using some images from the Crafter’s Companion Halcyon Days set. This is a bit of a cheat for me as the set came with pre-cut decoupage and that’s what I have used here. I simply layered it on to a canvas using glue gel.

I’ve added some white muslin around the sides.

And popped on a few mini shells here and there.

We are just over the half way point of the summer holidays challenge over at Crafty Boots so you’ve still time to join in if you have a little summer something to share.

Thanks for buzzing by.

    • Sorry to hear that – this side of the Pennines is still sweltering but I can’t get out to enjoy it!!! Thanks for your kind comments.

  1. Oh I do like this one, the muslin on the edges is brilliant! The little houses are sweet, especially all the little white lines, really looks special. ~Diane

  2. Oh my heavens, these are so doggoned adorable. You made this so cute with different levels on the canvas and muslin. Looks like you drew little lines to show up the details better, such a great touch. I love things like that. All the wonderful little details on this.
One of those English paper crafting zines I used to buy had some decoupage papers to make scenes with, I enjoyed putting it together. Can’t afford them anymore, they’ve gotten to be much higher. I always enjoyed them as they had adorable little gifts with them, papers to print out, lots of extras but just too much for my budget now. There are several of them I used to buy at Barnes and Noble when I was still working. Even then they were about $8 – $10 that really adds up. One thing I got from one is favorite, it’s a little gadget to make lines on paper to make folds, something like that. Can’t think of name of it. It’s so handy tho as it’s small, easier to use for me.
Used to buy magazines at Jo-Ann’s and could use a 40% off coupon but Jo-ann’s stopped that.
I have lots of older zines from them I kept, look back on them for inspiration now and then. I also used to get card and paper crafting kits every month but had to stop those. Have several I didn’t make so someday I will.
Hope your back is all better. TAke care ok?

    • Glad you like. I don’t buy kits very often as then I hoard them and don’t use them!!! However, this kit was a bargain that came with a CD so you can print more of what you want. Do you use CDs? My back is fine now and thank you for asking – amazing really when I’m on my feet for 13+ hours a day! Still suffering with blisters though!!! 😉

  3. Oh my. isn’t this pretty? I love the beach huts (I am beginning to feel about beach huts the same way I feel about butterflies and snowflakes) and the lighthouse is a fabulous addition.

I am sure you are pleased that the week is almost over.

    Dionne xx

    PS Still very hot here!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
