Pasty faced

Is it really Thursday already? It’s been another busy week (I’m beginning to think there will never be a calm one again!) but I am at least not away from home for any of it! I’m super pleased to be back today with a project that I am sharing over at City Crafter Challenge Blog where the theme of this week’s challenge is to use pastes or crackle paint. I have both!

This was one of those projects that started off as one thing and turned into another. The base is chipboard and I applied layers of gesso, paint, texture paste and crackle paint. There were also some wisps of gauze thrown in for good measure.

The image is from the Gecko Galz Beautiful Music collage set. I’ve used some Tim Holtz Distress Micro Glaze over the top of the image in order to protect it. I’ve had this product for quite awhile but this is the first time that I’ve used it. It wasn’t at all what I expected but it does a fantastic job.

I coloured some flowers with Festive Berries distress ink and then dry brushed them with gesso, weaving in some silver bullion wire. The finishing touch was to add some silver Stickles.

I had intended to add some words but decided in the end to leave it as it was.

Thanks for buzzing by.

  1. How beautiful is this project? The attention to detail is fabulous. Yep I often start with one idea and end up with something quite different x The background and the silver wire is so effective as is that beautiful stamp. Love it x

  2. It made me think of a precious handmade illustration in a childrens’book. Breathtaking! And a stunning take on our theme. Thanks so much for joining us this week at CCCB! Always good to see you!

I really appreciate it when people take time to leave a comment, thank you so much for doing so :)
